My blogging days begin

I know that this is not about me, but before we embark here, I have to share that only a place like Rwanda could get me to blog. I don't say that as any kind of comment on bloggers. I read them, and enjoy them, but have not had the capacity to generate them until now. Right here at the top, I will ask for your forgiveness for my sloth-like pace in reporting back to you about our incredible trip. In fact, I am going to take the year to write about the many facets of this amazing community and the people we are just beginning to know there. If you have sponsored a child with us from this community, THANK YOU! We were thrilled to see the work that is taking place, and think that you will be thrilled too. Please check back. I am going to share stories along with other people who went on the trip with us. If you are not sponsoring a child yet, please consider it! We are asking our audience to sponsor children from one community, Gisanga Rwanda, so that we can work together as a community. This is going to be a great journey together, and I want to invite you to come along! okay here goes, Sara

  1. Welcome to the bloggy world, Sara. I'm really looking forward to reading about the recent trip.

(P.S. I'm included a mention of your new blog in my last post on Inspired to Action, which is about the IJM GPG. It seemed connected.)

  2. I'm so glad you are doing this! I look forward to hearing your stories about this latest Rwanda trip, and anything else that's on your mind.

I know it seems daunting, but I have no doubt that the blogosphere will only be enhanced by your presence in it!

If you felt like sneaking in a post about the GPG, I don't think anyone would mind. :-) (I had all kinds of wonderful plans to attend until I realized it would mean missing my son's fifth birthday today!)

I never forgot what I read a while back where you said that you thought your gift—more than singing—was communicating. I am always blessed by your lovely voice, but I am so much more blessed that you have such wonderful things to share with it, whether by singing or speaking.

Thank you for now adding writing to the mix!

    xo, H.

  3. I just watched your Nomad video tonight with my husband. I've had the DVD in my desk drawer for months, with the best of intentions to watch it, but never put it in. My husband and I watched it all the way through. Thank you for making that. I felt like God spoke directly to me when you talked about "Seek His Kingdom" before anything else. And also, learning the value of just "going." You didn't know why you were going, but you went. God knew. And he knows for me, too.

  4. Well Sara Groves, recently I saw a poster of you in our local community store and then again in a church that I was in. I wondered to myself "who is this woman?" and then through a blog which led me to another blog which led to yet another blog I found your blog. And I see that you have an amazing heart for the poor. So I suppose I will follow the posters in our community and come check out your concert. My heart is also for the poor and I look forward to hearing what you have to share with us in that respect. If you like you can check my blog out as well: josephine-somewhereintime.blogspot.com

Many blessings as you continue your journey. Keep telling the world what you see and experience. We need a real good shake up!

    Josephine

  6. First off, I thank you for being obedient to God and moving as he moves. This is apparent in your music and in your trips to Rwanda. I've also been to Rwanda and I've found that since returning to the states, it is hard to find the words, or the audience, to really capture what I saw. I also want to thank you for the song "I saw what I saw" That puts to music what I, so ineptly, try to put to words.
