Sweet Dreams

Mark, who accompanied us on our second trip to Rwanda, just sent me this neat article in TIME magazine about a new ice cream shop opening in Rwanda. http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1997330,00.html
"Life isn't just about survival. It's about living." - Odile Gakire Katese, founder of Inzozi Nziza (Sweet Dreams)
In many ways, this was our same hope for our concert in Gisanga - that we would go beyond questions of survival to moments of community.

  1. The world would be a better place if there was more ice cream. :)

  2. Life is like an ice-cream cone, you have to lick it one day at a time. Praise God!!!

God is working through you guys even when you are away!

  3. Ah, and while I look around at my neighbors and my city (Memphis) seeing all the survival, I don't look close enough to see much of the living going on.... thank you for this sweet reminder (no pun intended!):)

  4. I love this! I love the reminder that even passed the darkest times of suffering and the most dramatic experiences of crisis, we were intended for so much more than survival! We survive in order that we might thrive in an abundant life on the other side of suffering.

And that includes, by deepest necessity, ice cream! ;-)

  5. What a wonderful and uplifting article. It is such a joy to see God at work and hearts open to His leading. Maybe the next time we're feeling like some ice cream we should head to Rwanda!
