My girlfriend Terri and I always come up with key words for conversations we want to pick up later, "Remind me to tell you about snot at Target and the red hat!" There are so many stories to tell you, I'm not sure where to begin, but I thought I would make a list of key words that I can expound on later, like Amsterdam thank you ma'am, a Widow's song, the culture of hand holding, the Christian artist community in Rwanda, ridiculous fruit breakfasts, meeting with pastors, the poverty mindset, reunions, showers of gifts, Pastor Faustin and his great love for Toby, twins, Hi Martha, a concert of a lifetime, our 'greenroom', eating with hungry spectators, headmasters in Gisanga, Dan Brown, Toby turns it around, Azizi Life, concert at the Serena, Africa Bite, where to get pizza in Kigali, the Mother Theresa Orphanage in Kigali, getting 60 babies to nap, a good cry, Akagera aka Eden, cavorting hippos and giraffe, big bugs, overseas airports and hotels, layovers, getting home. This is just the top of the story pile...

ReplyDeleteYou've got your work cut out for you. :-)
ReplyDeleteWhew! Sounds like a wonderful time on several levels. I can't wait to hear how God is going to use that time through you.
ReplyDeleteHey Sara,
ReplyDeleteYou don't know me at all, but I found this blog of yours just now and wanted to write a note to you. Your music has blessed me immensely through the past 4 years as my husband and I have been living in India, so I wanted to try to let you know that God has worked His healing and reminded me of Hope and Truth through your music in many difficult days. Thanks for writing songs, thanks for sharing the music you write - it is helpful. May God bless you- especially as you process what you have seen in central Africa - a region I know well. - I am sure that God will give you words and music to speak His Truth as you process it all too. Thanks again and GOD BLESS YOU! -Joie
Sara, thankyou! You have inspired me already. I used to help as a child in Mother Teresa homeless hostels in the UK with my Mum- when 4yr olds were allowed to serve food in soup kitchens! I'm looking forward to seeing a post about the Mother Teresa orphanage.x bless you, rest well as you return home and let it all sink in.x
ReplyDeleteHaha! Can't wait to read about all the stories, Sara. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteLove,
The Hildens
